Hi, there! You can call me Bing.
I had this blog in 2019 to help promote my craft – content writing. Other than the desire to earn more on the side, I wanted to hone my writing skills more or boost whatever skills I had.
Focusing on my goal, I was determined to concentrate on refining my deliverables and getting clients. I created this blog to reach out to my audience. There were only a few who got interested. “Well, better to have one than none,” I said myself.
Then I learned from one of those programs I enrolled in that I need to identify my niche. I chose healthy eating, nutrition, and weight loss as my niche. My mindset is that this goal can also help my husband with his health concerns. He was a stroke victim.
Feeling confident, I started reaching out, following what I learned from the program. I welcomed every opportunity though some were just messages from someone taking an interest and not pursuing it.
The problem is that this blog does not align with my niche. But I believe that even if the blog is not about my chosen niche, it still has a bearing for content writers like me. My thinking was that I could create just another blog for the niche.
It was slow progress, and I was happy and hopeful about a particular project. I was looking forward to it.
Then the pandemic came. There was no word from the clients. It was as if the pandemic stalled all the opportunities and even my interest. I was one of those who was very afraid.
As if to amplify the situation, my husband contacted the Covid-19 virus. He was in the ICU for a month but was able to recover, doing physical therapy and consultations the following year.
We brought him to the hospital again last year. Unfortunately, he passed away three months after. Covid-19 made it worse for him.
It was the last quarter when a client contacted me again to do content writing for them. It was a project unrelated to my niche, but I took the opportunity.
I said to myself that I had to do something about the grief. Even though it is hard, the yearning will always be there. But I need to go back to writing content.
So here I am, making a comeback, seeking ways to achieve my goals, and be able to write better.
Hello to everybody, especially to UBC participants.
